How Do I Reset or Customize My Access Codes?

Creating a custom Access Code is an easy way for you to access your unit with a code that is easier to remember. To get started, ensure your hub and door lock are powered on and online in order to add the new code successfully. Please note that this feature is only available if enabled by your community management team. 

 

Resetting your Access Code:

To reset your custom Access Code, follow these steps:

  1. In the SmartRent Mobile App, tap Access in the bottom bar menu
  2. Tap My Access
  3. Tap the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of your access card

  4. Tap Generate a Code

  5. Choose four or six digit code
  6. Wait for your Access Code to be updated (this may take a few minutes)

Creating a Custom Access Code:

To create your custom Access Code, follow these steps:

  1. In the SmartRent Mobile App, tap Access in the bottom bar menu
  2. Tap My Access
  3. Tap the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of your access card

  4. Tap Get a New Code
  5. Tap Pick a Code
  6. Tap Continue

  7. Choose four or six digit code
  8. Enter desired PIN
  9. Tap Update to save
  10. If your code fails to reset, your previous code will show when you tap on My Code and you will see a notification saying Update Failed
  • The custom code feature must be enabled by your Community; reach out to your Community directly to enable this feature
  • Guest codes (temporary, permanent, delivery, recurring) are randomly generated and are NOT customizable
  • Custom codes must be four or six digits long and should not repeat the same number (i.e. 1111) and should not have a consecutive sequence of numbers (i.e. 1234, 5432)
  • Custom codes are not available for community amenities or community doors
