How to Connect Your Hub to Local Internet

There are two options when connecting your SmartRent hub to your local internet:   

1. You can connect directly via the provided Ethernet cable that is plugged into the hub. To accomplish this simply plug in the other end of the Ethernet cable into your internet router. 

2. You can connect over WiFi in the SmartRent mobile app.

To connect your SmartRent system to your local WiFi follow the below steps based on the type of device you are using.

From Android devices

1. Start by logging in to your app

2. Tap on the three stacked lines in the top left of the screen stacked_lines.PNG

3. Click on Settings

4. Tap on Network Settings

5. Click on WiFi

6. The WiFi screen will start searching for available networks and show a list of your local networks. Select the name of your internet router from the list of options

7. Enter your WiFi password and click Connect

8. We will begin the connection process. This may take a couple of minutes. Once the connection is completed, you will see your network is connected successfully and your hub will now be running off your local WiFi network

From iOS devices

1. Start by logging in to your app

2. Tap on More in the bottom right hand corner of your phone screen  More_Tab_-_iOS.PNG
