How do I link my Ring Account?

You’ll first need to link your Ring account in ResWeb.

  1. Login to your Resident/Alloy SmartHome account at https://control.smartrent.com/login 
  2. Navigate to the Ring Tab in ResWeb
  3. Select Connect your Ring Account
  4. Input your Ring account login credentials
  5. Select Authorize when prompted

Can I link my account using the mobile app?

Currently, Ring can only be linked to your mobile app by first linking your Ring account in ResWeb. An upcoming feature includes a way for you to Link/Unlink via your mobile app.

How do I unlink my Ring Account?

You can unlink your Ring Account using the following steps:

  1. Login to your Resident/Alloy SmartHome account at https://control.smartrent.com/login 
  2. Navigate to the Ring Tab in ResWeb
  3. Select Unlink Ring in the top right-hand corner

How do I remove a Ring Device from my account?

If you only want to remove a single Ring device from your account you’ll need to do so through your Ring app. Currently, we do not support deleting Ring devices from the mobile app. If you wish to unlink your Ring account entirely, please see the steps for How do I unlink my Ring Account?

Can I see a live-view from my ResWeb or ResMobile account?

Live-View is currently available through ResWeb, very strong internet connectivity will provide the best live-view experience for your Ring devices. Live-View for mobile is a feature set for our future release, and is currently unavailable. But stay tuned!

What Ring Devices are supported?

Here is a list of our currently supported Ring Devices:

  • Ring Video Doorbell (1, 2, Version 2, 3, 3 Plus, Pro, Elite)
  • Ring Peephole Cam
  • Ring Indoor Cam
  • Ring Stickup Cam (Battery, Plug-In)
  • Ring Spotlight Cam (Battery, Plug-In)
  • Ring Floodlight Cam

I am not seeing my Ring Device appear in my mobile app, why?

Check your Ring app to ensure your Ring device has been installed and paired properly. Our mobile app directly reads from Ring and devices are synced over to display on your SmartHome app. If your device is paired in Ring and is on our Supported Devices list please get in contact with our Support Team to help assist you in troubleshooting.

Can I unlock or lock my door via the Ring Doorbell integration?

The ability to unlock or lock your door via the Ring Doorbell is a feature that is in development and coming soon!

Is the Ring Integration available on iOS and Android?

Our Ring Integration currently supports iOS devices, we are currently in the development of Android support and it is coming soon.

Will SmartRent have access to my Ring Devices? 

SmartRent requires your authorization to access your Ring Account in order to sync your Ring devices within the SmartHome app. You will be prompted to allow this access prior, and you can unlink your Ring Account at any time through ResWeb.

I haven't set up my Ring Devices in the Ring mobile app yet, how do I do that?

Setting up your devices in Ring:

  1. Download the Ring App from the Apple or Google Play store
  2. Select Create Account and go through the prompted steps
  3. Once the account is created, select Setup Device
  4. Select the device to set up and follow the prompted steps within the Ring app

How do I play-back activity that has occurred on my Ring Device?

In either your Alloy SmartHome app or within ResWeb, you can click into one of your specific Ring devices to view its activity list. On the left of each activity column is a playback button to view the recording that was taken during the time of the triggered activity event.

  • Being able to link/unlink your Ring account via your mobile app
