How do I Use SmartRent if I Don't Have a Smart Phone?

If you are a resident with the SmartRent system installed in your home, and you do not own or have access to a smartphone, there is nothing to worry about. You are still able to access your SmartRent account via our website by going to smartrent.com and clicking Login in the upper right corner.

 

To log in via web browser:

  1. Go to smartrent.com and click login in the top right corner of the web page.

  2. Enter your login email and click Continue.

  3. Then enter your password and click Sign In.

Note: The web browser version of SmartRent only supports a few basic features:

  • controlling your devices remotely
  • executing already created scenes
  • enabling security features like Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • viewing your resident code

For access to the full suite of SmartRent features (such as creating new scenes, setting up device schedules, creating guest access codes, resetting your resident code, and much more) you will need to download and use the SmartRent mobile app on a smartphone.


What if I don't want to log in or register a SmartRent account at all?

If you do not wish to log in via web browser, you may continue to use your devices by simply walking up to them and interacting as you would any normal, non-smart device, and using your Access Code to unlock your door lock and enter your home.

Once you are granted access by your Community Manager, you will receive an email that has your Access Code for your home. If your community has any Common Area access systems that are integrated with SmartRent, your access to those common areas will also be included in this email. You will not need to download the app or register your account for these codes to be used. Simply click the Get My Access button in the email to view your Access Code.

Note: The Get My Access button will expire 30 minutes after it is delivered. If this happens, you will be directed to a webpage that asks you to Send Me A New Link which you will also need to view within 30 minutes of that new email being delivered.

If you do not have an email address in order to attain your access code, please contact your Community Manager so they may provide you with a code.
