Two weeks ago, SmartRent’s student housing team traveled to Austin, Texas for one of the industry’s top conferences, InterFace Student Housing. After two years, InterFace came back with a bang, welcoming nearly 1,300 leading housing providers and amenity suppliers to ATX.
While in Austin, our team met up with friends and partners from Greystar, Yardi, Entrata, Adirondack, GradGuard, and more. Additionally, we made many new connections and swapped more business cards than we can count.

We enjoyed a full line-up of events, ranging from casual discussions to in-depth informational sessions. Here are a few of our favorite moments:
Wednesday’s Power Panel, which brought in experts from Landmark Properties, Greystar, Scion Group, and Core Spaces to discuss how COVID-19 has impacted the student housing sector.
Whether it was learning about new innovations from American Campus Communities, or getting an industry update from Vesper Holdings, Preiss Company, and more, InterFace hosted several sessions that reminded us why there’s a lot to look forward to in our sector.
Tuesday’s Roundtable events, where we met with experts in a small group setting. Our team loved chatting with peers in the smart home tech, digital marketing, and insurance sectors, among others.
Not to mention, we took advantage of 8 hours of scheduled networking, mingling with student housing peers, and getting their opinion on smart home technology and the post-pandemic outlook.
A Return to Normalcy
SmartRent is ecstatic to return to in-person business events! If this year’s InterFace Student Housing conference is any indication, we are in for an exciting line-up of events well into 2022.
