After countless virtual conferences, the SmartRent team is looking forward to a busy autumn filled with in-person events. We happily report that our first one of the season, Bisnow’s Build to Rent Annual Conference in London, was a massive success!
This one-day event, held on Thursday 23rd September, welcomed 450 participants to Wembley Stadium for a jam-packed day of panel discussions and demonstrations.
While there, the SmartRent team was able to perform short product demonstrations and mingle with the “Who’s Who” of Build to Rent companies.

BTR-Centric Panel Discussions
One of our favourite things about industry events are their discussions. At this year’s event, topics included the outlook for Build to Rent developers, sustainability’s place in BTR and the rise of smart home technology.
A sign of the times, one panel focused on community well-being, with panelists revealing ways to support resident wellness. Even for those who do not interact with residents often, this conversation reminded us to value the wellbeing of everyone served by the Build to Rent industry.
At lunchtime, attendees were also in for a treat, with one hour devoted to touring some of the many developments surrounding Wembley Stadium. This gave participants a glimpse into the inner workings of a BTR development at one of London's most famous landmarks.
The Tech Innovation Partnership
What’s behind smart developments? Technology, of course! SmartRent teamed up with TLJ Access Control and Quadient to form the Tech Innovation Partnership at BTRAC.
The Tech Innovation Partnership is dedicated to demonstrating how modular, integrated, smart building solutions for Build to Rent properties and purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) can enhance both industries. Additionally, the partnership hopes to empower communities across the UK with the technology needed to increase resident satisfaction and efficiency.
While at Wembley Stadium, the Partnership enjoyed our own corner of the event. There, we talked at length about the benefits of smart home tech and showed attendees how innovative our smart home platform is. Leak detection was one of our most asked about features!
